NEWARK, NJ -- Sophomore outside hitter Nate Stott and sophomore middle hitter Jon Keller had 10.5 points apiece as Rutgers-Newark (7-18, 5-5 EIVA) closed its 2008 season with a 3-0 EIVA Hay win over the University of New Haven (9-15, 0-9 EIVA) in The Golden Dome. Game scores were 30-23, 30-17, 30-19.
Stott hit .545 with seven kills and just one error on 11 swings and added two aces, a solo block and an assisted block before watching game three from the bench. Keller led the Raiders with nine kills, hitting .462, and chipped in three assisted blocks.
The Chargers were led by senior Chris Lennon as he posted a match-high 10 kills and added six assists. Sophomore Austin Michalski had a team-high 12 assists along with two kills.
Rounding out the rest of the scoring for UNH was sophomore Peter Kazlas with three kills, along with graduate-student Matthew Soderstrom's two kills. Senior Tommy Musto and freshman Cheyne Ashline also added a kill a piece for the Chargers.
UNH will be in action for their season finale tomorrow night, Thursday, April 10 at 7:00 p.m. at Charger Gymnasium. As the final home game of the season the team will be honoring their senior class.
