BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Evan Okon (photo) went 4-for-5 and drove in four runs, and Michael Moras launched his fourth homer of the season to help lead the University of New Haven baseball team to an 11-8 win over Concordia College (N.Y.) on Wednesday afternoon at Clippers Baseball Field.

With the victory, UNH improves to 13-13 overall and 9-3 in the East Coast Conference, sweeping the season series from Concordia (6-19, 2-10 ECC).  Okon doubled twice, as did Kyle Donnelly (3-for-6), and the Chargers logged 16 hits overall in the contest.  Adam Rozum doubled and scored twice, while Tom Rombilus had a pair of hits and scored three times.

T.J. Phelan picked up the win with three innings of relief, allowing just one run.  Matt Sommo and Mitch Rossi each pitched a scoreless inning of relief, with Rossi closing the door in the ninth inning for his third save of the season.

For Concordia, Peter Dempsey drove in four runs while Greg Conway went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored.

Moras launched his fourth homer of the season in the fifth inning, a two-run shot that temporarily put UNH ahead 5-4.  The Chargers added another run in the frame, but Concordia re-took the lead 7-6 with a three-run bottom half of the fifth.  Conway drove in a run with a single through the left side.  Dempsey forced in a run on a bases-loaded walk, and T.J. Walsh drove in the third tally on a sacrifice fly to right field.

But UNH equalized the game in the top of the sixth when Donnelly doubled to left and Okon followed with a double to center.

The Chargers broke the game open with four runs in the seventh, highlighted by a two-run single by Donnelly after Rozum was hit by a pitch and Dan Rosa singled.  After a walk, Okon singled in the third run of the inning, and Concordia walked Moras to load the bases.  Two batters later, Tom Ballaro remained patient and drew a walk to make the score 11-7.

Concordia scraped out their only run against Phelan in the bottom half on an RBI single by Dempsey.  Although Sommo allowed three runners in the Concordia eighth, he got out of the inning unscathed thanks to a double play and a pop up to short.

Rossi allowed a one-out single to Conway in the ninth, but struck out Dempsey and got pinch hitter Joe Vaskas to ground out to second base to end the contest.

UNH, having swept the season series from Concordia, maintains sole possession of first place in the ECC.  The Chargers have won 13 of their last 18 games after starting the season 0-8.  The Chargers play non-conference opponent Post University on Thursday at 3:00, and then play a three-game ECC series with Adelphi University this Saturday and Sunday (home).
