CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Brady Weissbourd led all players with 18 kills on .640 hitting to pace the Harvard University men's volleyball team to a 3-0 win over University of New Haven at Malkin Athletic Center on Wednesday night. Harvard won by scores of 30-27, 30-18, 32-30.
Weissbourd had 18 kills on just 25 swings for the Crimson, which improve to 9-10 overall and 6-4 in the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. Erik Kuld added 11 kills while Jamie Crooks had ten. Gil Weintraub logged 46 assists.
UNH remains winless in the EIVA at 0-8 and are now 9-14 overall. Matthew Soderstrom led the team with 12 kills, and added six digs and two solo blocks, while Tommy Musto had 11 kills on .320 hitting. Austin Michalski registered a team-best 28 assists.
Harvard hit well - .394 for the match - especially in the first two games. They opened with a .500 mark and followed up with an astounding .630 hitting percentage in the easy game two victory. UNH out-hit Harvard .241 to .163 in the third game as they narrowly lost in extra points.
UNH now has a week off before playing their next match on Wednesday, April 9 at Rugters-Newark.
