WEST HAVEN, Conn. -- Jenna Miller tallied 11 points, including 10 assists, to lead the No. 1 C.W. Post women's lacrosse team to a 15-3 East Coast Conference win over University of New Haven at Kayo Field on Tuesday afternoon.

Miller also tallied one goal for the Pioneers, as the two-time defending Division II champions remained unbeaten at 5-0 overall and won their ECC opener.  Jaclyn Napoli led all players with five goals, while Elaine Williams and Mallory Poole had a pair each.

New Haven had won four games in a row to open the season but now sits at 4-1, 1-1.  Mallory and Ashley Ferrandiz each scored once, as did Sarah LeGoff

The game was tight early in the first half, with C.W. Post leading just 2-0 through the game's first 16:56.  They added two more goals before UNH got on the board on Mallory Ferrandiz's goal at the 19:21 mark.

But the Pioneers quashed the momentum and reeled off four goals in a nine-minute span to end the half up by an 8-1 margin.  CWP carried the scoring into the second period, reeling off five straight goals for a 13-1 lead before LeGoff broke the UNH drought with her eighth goal of the season with just under 10 minutes remaining in the contest.

The schedule doesn't get any easier for UNH on Thursday, when the Chargers travel to Massachusetts for a date with national No. 3 Stonehill College.
