CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. -- University of New Haven pitcher Breanne Gleason was named East Coast Conference Softball Baden Pitcher of the Week on Monday. The award covered games for the period of March 17-23.
Gleason went 2-1 with a 1.80 ERA in 20 innings last week, striking out 26 while walking just six. She tossed two complete games in three outings. At the plate, Gleason hit .389 (7-for-18) and slugged .889 (2 HR, 3 2B) with 5 RBI's and 5 runs scored in a 3-3 week for the Chargers in Florida.
UNH hosts ECC foe Adelphi on Tuesday afternoon beginning at 3:00 p.m., and hosts non-conference foe Southern Connecticut State on Thursday at 3:00. They play at Bridgeport on Saturday, and follow up with a home ECC doubleheader the next day beginning at 1:00 p.m. vs. New York Tech.
