CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. -- University of New Haven sophomore short stop Nicole Downs won the East Coast Conference's Softball Baden Player of the Week award on Monday, the conference announced.
Downs helped the Chargers to a 2-2 week at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida, batting .615 (8-for-13) with a double, three home runs, seven RBI's and five runs scored. She slugged 1.385 and added a pair of sacrifice flies during the week.
UNH continues play at the Rebel Spring Games with six more games, two apiece on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
