WEST CHESTER, Pa. -- No. 15 West Chester University remained unbeaten this season with a non-conference baseball doubleheader sweep of University of New Haven at Serpico Stadium on Sunday.  WCU won by scores of 5-0 and 10-3.

West Chester remains unblemished at 10-0, while UNH falls to 0-6, with all their losses coming on the road.  The Chargers play at Southern Connecticut and Pace University this week before hosting their first games at Vieira Field on March 15-16.

GAME ONE - No. 15 West Chester 5, UNH 0 (7 innings)

West Chester's Chris Powl and Eric Carmichael combined on a 3-hit shutout, striking out seven batters to keep UNH at bay in a 5-0 win.

Powl hurled five innings of two-hit ball, walking three and striking out five to pick up his third victory of the season.  Carmichael closed out the win with two scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out a pair.

Matt Sommo took the loss for UNH, allowing five runs on nine hits and a walk in five innings.  Dan Johnson closed out the game with a scoreless frame, allowing just one hit.

Jimmy Rivas was 2-for-2 with a walk for the Chargers, while Dan Rosa picked up the third hit with a triple in a pair of at-bats.  The rest of the lineup was 0-for-22.

WCU got three in the bottom of the third inning and a pair in the bottom of the fifth.  Drew Pare tripled to left center to drive in a pair of runs in the third, and Kevin McGrath doubled in one of the runs in the fifth.  The other scored on an error.

GAME TWO - No. 15 West Chester 10, UNH 3 (7 innings)

WCU jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one inning, and added one run in the third and a game-changing six runs in the fourth for a 10-3 decision.

Jason Bowman allowed two runs on 10 hits in five innings for WCU, striking out six.  Kyle Bechter was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI's, while McGrath was 3-for-3 with two RBI's.  Pare drove in three.

For UNH, Rivas was 2-for-3 while Michael Moras drove in a run with a pair of hits.  Tom Ballaro drove in a run, along with Kyle Bombace.

Down 4-2 heading to the bottom of the fourth, UNH gave up six runs as WCU broke the game open.

Kyle Bechter tripled with two men on and one away to make it 6-2, and after a hit batter, Pare tripled in two runs for an 8-2 edge.  Blair Dameron drove in a row on a sac fly, and another run scored on an error to put the home team up 10-2.
