At halftime of the UNH men’s basketball game on Saturday, February 9, the Silver Bullets Basketball team will take the floor for a five-on-five, full court, run-and-shoot exhibition.
The Silver Bullets are in their ninth season, and are sponsored by Wallingford Parks & Recreation. The program is for players (and non-players who join them for coffee) 60-and-over years of age. They currently have 45 players on the roster who play one, two or three times a week. With four players in their 80’s, 15 players in their 70’s and the rest in their 60’s.
The players in their 70’s are currently Connecticut Senior Games Gold Medalists in three-on-three competition. Look for Mel Horowitz, a UNH Athletics Hall of Fame member, to lead the players in the halftime game.
