SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Ryan Fredrickson had 15 kills on .542 hitting and Eric Palumbo added 11 kills to lead the Springfield College men's volleyball team to a 3-0 (30-26, 30-25 and 30-17) win over University of New Haven in Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association action on Tuesday night at Blake Arena.
Division III's fourth-ranked team, Springfield remained unbeaten in the EIVA's Hay Division at 4-0, and improved to 11-2 overall. The Pride hit .333 overall and recorded eight blocks, including five by Cal Palumbo (9 kills).
UNH falls to 6-5 overall and 0-2 in the EIVA with the loss, their second in a row both overall and to Springfield. The Chargers hit just .052 overall, committing 24 hitting errors vs. just 29 kills.
Chris Lennon led the way with eight kills, adding four blocks and 10 assists. Tommy Musto had seven kills, but hit -.077. He was one of three players who had negative hitting percentages.
Matthew Soderstrom and John Sedlock led all players with eight digs, joining Springfield's A.J. Nally and Javier Rosario.
UNH continues EIVA play this Wednesday night with a match at No. 5 NYU beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Chargers travel to Emmanuel College this Saturday for a tri-match including Mount Olive College.
