WEST HAVEN, Conn. -- With over $1,400 raised so far and counting, THINK PINK awareness continues at the University of New Haven this week.  UNH's fraternities and sororities are sponsoring "Be Bold, Go Bald!"in Bartels Hall, and the efforts are all leading up to the Yale-New Haven Hospital Digital Mobile Mammography Van coming on campus Saturday, February 16.

UNH's THINK PINK campaign began last week with ribbon and t-shirt sales and signings in the Student Center.  The Chargers prevailed over Molloy Saturday afternoon on a last-second shot, wearing pink shoelaces in front of pink-clad fans.

On Saturday February 16th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the Yale-New Haven Hospital Mobile Mammography Van will be on campus in the Maxcy Parking Lot.  We encourage you to tell family members, friends and neighbors to make an appointment by calling (203) 688-6800.  This yearly screening is a vital step in a women’s overall preventive health care – Early Detection Saves Lives.

Supporters have one last chance to get their heads shaved in Bartels on Thursday, Feb. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to help raise money for the cause.

You can still obtain your own UNH-branded THINK PINK t-shirt for a $5.00 donation by contacting Health Services at 932-7079 or Sue Zawacki in Athletics at 932-7357.

As of February 11, donations have reached over $1,400.00 for the cause, thanks to the efforts of our student groups. At the UNH basketball game on Wednesday, February 20, a donation check will be presented to a representative from the Father McGivney Center for Cancer Research at the Hospital of St. Raphael.

The “Think Pink” committee would again like to thank everyone for their continued support, and hard work on this important issue.
