WEST HAVEN, Conn. -- The University of New Haven Softball team is hosting their second annual “Charger Homerun Breakfast,” a Faculty/Staff/Alumni breakfast fundraiser that will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2008 from 7:30-9:00 a.m. in the Alumni Lounge on the university campus.
The goal of the breakfast is to encourage more of a connection between the student-athletes and the faculty/administration/alumni, to support the softball team’s annual spring training trip to Florida, and to “throw out the first pitch” on the softball season.
Interested supporters can purchase and host a table at the breakfast for $100. Table hosts will serve breakfast to the guests (staff, faculty, alumni, friends) at their respective tables and will be teamed up with a softball player that will assist in serving. The host(ess) of the table that receives the most in tips wins a prize.
Table hosts who purchase a table for $100 can invite up to seven people to join their table. (The breakfast will be free for table hosts and their guests, and includes eggs, breakfast potatoes, fruit, bagels, etc.).
There will be a raffle during the breakfast with various prizes such as; Yankee box seat tickets, Mets tickets, Celtics Tickets, Coach bags, Golf bag, Don Mattingly autographed baseball, Spa gift cards, and Comedy Club Tickets, and other prizes!
Meet the team and hear a few words from coaches and Director of Athletics Deborah Chin. Prizes will be awarded for the funniest and most creative apron as well as host that raises the most tips.
Participants may leave early for class or work, but are encouraged to come for as long as they can.
Tables can be purchased by filling out and returning the registration form (Click Here - PDF). Checks should be made payable to New Haven Softball and sent along with the registration form to:

Forms and checks can also be dropped off at the University of New Haven Department of Athletics in Charger Gymnasium.
Invitations will be sent out by February 8, or as soon as possible for registrations after that date.
