OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. -- New York Institute of Technology pulled away with three second-half goals in a 3-0 East Coast Conference men's soccer win over University of New Haven on Saturday afternoon.

UNH (2-7-0, 1-3-0 ECC) held East Coast Conference co-leader NYIT (7-1-0, 2-0-0 ECC) scoreless in the first half.

But Andre Lee scored what proved to be the game winner at 48:39 in the second half, taking a through pass into the box from Josue Cruz before finding the back of the net.

NYIT got their second goal seven minutes later when Frank Spanos played a give-and-go pass into the box for an Oscar Gonzales goal.

Tech's Frank Spanos cleaned up a rebound in front of the net for the day's third score at the 64:37 mark of the contest.

UNH's goalkeeper James Hilaire made eight saves on the afternoon, while Cosimo D'Agostino made four to earn the shutout victory.

The Chargers play three straight times at home next week, beginning with an ECC battle with 22nd-ranked Bridgeport on Tuesday, October 2.
