Dave Wallace entered the University of New Haven in 1966, beginning a four-year collegiate career as one of UNH’s most outstanding pitchers.  Wallace posted a 24-6 record during his collegiate career, including pitching New Haven to the NAIA Eastern Regional Title and a place in the National Tournament in 1966.  To date, he remains number two in all time career strikeouts with 311 and in the top ten career categories of lowest era at 2.18, career wins 24, and total appearances 52.  Following graduation Wallace played professionally with the Philadelphia Phillies, Toronto Blue Jays, and Boston Red Sox.  He played as a major leaguer both with the Philadelphia Phillies and the Toronto Blue Jays.  At the end of his playing career, Wallace moved on to the coaching ranks spending 14 years in the minor leagues.  His major league coaching career began in 1995 with the LA Dodgers and in 1998 he joined the NY Mets, helping them to win the 2000 National League Pennant.  Wallace will rejoin the LA Dodgers for the 2001 season as Special Assistant to the General Manager.
