Nick Sakiewicz entered the New Haven Hall of Fame as one of the most successful goaltenders in school history. He still holds several school records including most shutouts in a career with 25 during his four seasons. He was an All-New England Collegiate Conference and All-New England selection during his career. During his senior season, Sakiewicz allowed only 17 goals in 19 games as a starter. He stopped 123 of 140 shots on goal as a senior. His best season came during his junior year in which he allowed only 10 goals in 20 games, and stopped 121 of 131 shots, including 11 shutouts. Following graduation, Sakiewicz played professionally in both France and Portugal. He served one year as the Vice-President of Corporate Sales for Major League Soccer and is currently the President and General Manager of Major League Soccer’s Tampa Bay Mutiny.
