John Raslavsky played a pivotal role in the development of the University of New Haven men’s basketball program, spending four years as one of the team’s top inside players. He was among the team leaders in many statistical categories during his career including a second-place finish in rebounding during his senior year. During that senior campaign, Raslavsky averaged a double-double for the year with 13 points and 15.1 rebounds per game, one of the top rebounding averages on the team. Raslavsky represented one of the team’s most accurate shooters, connecting on at least 50 percent of his field goal attempts during three of his four years. He finished his career with .551 field goal percentage and also netted better than 70 percent of his career free throw attempts. With his help, the Chargers posted a winning season in each of his four years. He finished his career ranked among the top 10 in career rebounding with 847 including 393 caroms  in 1965-66, which, at the time, was one of the best single season totals in school history. Raslavsky tallied 715 points in 83 games during his four-year career.
