John S. Krawiecki Jr. enters the New Haven Hall of Fame as one of the best pitchers to ever wear a Charger uniform. Krawiecki finished his career with a 28-7 record and a 1.57 ERA, highlighted by his senior season in which he was 11-1 with a 0.81 ERA. In four seasons he recorded 270 strikeouts while walking just 100 batters in 291.2 career innings. He was an Honorable Mention All-America selection in 1967 and is one of two pitchers who are in all eight career statistical categories. The 1970 co-captain pitched two no-hitters in his career and signed with the San Diego Padres after graduation. Krawiecki batted .271 for his career. His best season at the plate came as a junior in 1969 when he batted .314. Krawiecki played baseball continuously for 40 years beginning at the age of eight, he also umpired collegiate baseball for 14 years and coached youth baseball for over 20 years.
