In the storied tradition of the University of New Haven women’s volleyball program, Jane Grant-Griffith’s name is remembered as one of the all-time greats to play at the university. Playing in over 170 matches during her four-year career, Grant-Griffith’s name not only stands out prominently on the UNH record book, but the NCAA record book as well. The two-time All-American currently holds the school record for all blocking categories and career service aces and ranks fourth all-time in NCAA history with 389 service aces. While the NCAA does not keep blocking records, the Barbados, West Indies native would certainly stake claim as one of the best blockers in the nation with 612 career blocks including 225 solo blocks and 387 assisted blocks: all UNH school records. Voted as the team MVP in 1995 and 1996, Grant-Griffith earned Second-Team All-America honors in 1995 and named a First-Team All-American as a senior in 1996. Not only does her career kill total of 1,895 rank fifth in school history, her career hitting percentage of .385 ranks as the ninth-best in NCAA history. Defensively, she stands fifth in UNH history with 1,240 career digs. From 1994 to 1996, she earned All-NECC Conference First-Team honors including Conference MVP honors in 1995 and 1996. During her career, UNH posted a record of 160-11 (.935).
