Steve DiBartolomeo, or DiBo as he is better known at New Haven, finished his New Haven pitching career with a 43-4 career record, the best record in school history and is highly regarded as the best player to wear a Charger uniform. DiBartolomeo was the 1989 National Division II Player of the Year after posting a 17-1 record with a 1.92 ERA with 133 strikeouts and seven saves. He is the only Charger ever to win the National Player of the Year honor. He was a Converse ABCA First-Team All America selection in both 1988 and 1989, and for those two seasons he had a 34-4 record and 1.91 ERA. DiBartolomeo was the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Year in 1988 and 1989 and ECAC Division II North Player of the Year. He still holds the school record for career wins (43), career innings pitched (359), career saves (10) and is third in career strikeouts (309). He posts a 2.09 career ERA, allowing just 84 earned runs in 359 innings pitched.
