Marie Paulis's headshotWe realize here at the University of New Haven that in order for our graduates to be competitive in today’s health professions, we need to offer an educational experience that exposes the prospective dental hygienist to many different work environments and engaging opportunities.

Our students have a choice to earn a 3-year A.S. degree, which enables them to earn dental hygiene licensure and begin their careers, and then continue their education for 1 more year to earn their Bachelor’s degree. Our students may also choose to continue on to earn their Master’s degree in a variety of related fields, like Healthcare Administration.

Our program will challenge everyone who walks through its doors with both coursework and exposure to many different patient experiences.  Our students gain real-world experiences through our faculty partnerships with the community, including Masonicare of Newtown, local schools, community health centers, Yale-New Haven, and a U.S. Military Base.  Some of these experiences may result in clinical internships and employment opportunities upon graduation.

The Dental Hygiene Program and University of New Haven have been granted and maintain all necessary accreditations, including that granted by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

Are you not sure if the University of New Haven is for you? Schedule a visit!  Our students and experienced faculty would like to meet you and show you what we have to offer!
