The nearly 50,000 UNH alumni welcomed 396 new members - 146 undergraduates and 250 graduate students - to their family during Winter Commencement on Saturday, January 19. Serving as commencement speaker was Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation president Mick Maurer. He also received an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree. Others receiving honorary degrees during the ceremony were Connecticut Senator Toni Harp (D-10) and Lawrence Flanagan '80, former Chief Marketing Officer of MasterCard Worldwide.
Heavy Snow and Hazardous Driving. Please Use Caution.
Due to the impending snowstorm and the likelihood of difficult travel on Monday, all classes scheduled to start at 12:00 p.m. (noon) or laterare canceled. The University will close at 12:30 p.m. Monday for all non-essential staff.
The University will remain closed Tuesday due to the snowstorm and clean-up operations. Wednesday's status will be announced once the extent of the cleanup after the storm is known.
Residential student services will remain operational but may be limited at times due to the storm’s severity. Individual communications will follow with specific information for our residential students.
Students should continue to monitor their email for further information about University services and events, which individual departments may update. The UNH website and Facebook page will have more information if conditions warrant.
