The Graphic Design program at UNH teaches its students to interpret the world in ways that that have meaning, value and purpose by way of creating visual art. Along with state-of-the-art digital design technology, students will learn the practice of graphic design from a faculty filled with industry professionals. The experience of the professors includes fine and applied arts, corporate design, book illustration and advertising.

Students entering the program will take introductory courses concentrating on basic design vocabulary, composition, color perception, drawing, introduction to the use of computers as a design tool and photography. During the junior and senior years, the curriculum includes illustration, critical analysis, problem-solving methodology and advanced computer projects.

UNH graphic design majors will network with professionals from the College Art Association (CAA), the American Institute of Graphics Arts (AIGA), the Broadcast Designer's Association (BDA), the Association of Computer Machinery (ACM) and the Connecticut Art Director's Club (CADC). The Visual Arts Department will also work with the students to place each one with an appropriate internship, according to his or her skills and career goals.
