Global Studies

A Global Studies graduate has an understanding in key global concerns that affect us nationally and internationally. At UNH, the faculty knows that much of the future will depend on events in the Middle East and Asia, and students are immersed in the culture and history of these and other important areas of the world. Upon completing a degree in Global Studies at UNH, students have opportunities in the fields of government agencies, multinational corporations, financial institutions and non-governmental organizations.

Students pursuing a global studies degree are required to complete at least two semesters of a modern language; global studies does not only include understanding the culture, but being able to communicate with others in different parts of the world. Furthermore, UNH is one of the leading providers of study abroad opportunities, and strongly suggests that Global Studies majors go abroad for a summer, a semester, or even a year. There are more than twenty available study abroad sites around the world for UNH students.

After the first year of study, Global Studies majors will choose from one of the following concentrations: Global Economy, Latin American Studies, Asian Studies or European Studies.
