Forensic Science
UNH is home to one of the most distinguished Forensic Science programs in the country. The University boasts years of experience: it was the first in the nation to offer both graduate and undergraduate certificates in Forensic Computer Investigation, along with online certificate courses in Information Protection and Security. Furthermore, it is fully accredited by the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FSEPAC) through the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) - however, the program at UNH was actually around for almost 30 years before FSEPAC even existed! Renowned forensic scientist, Dr. Henry C. Lee, is significantly involved in the program, connecting UNH to high-profile cases like that of O.J. Simpson. Furthermore, the faculty has a strong combination of academic credentials and practical experience in the field. Even the adjunct professors are well-known for their forensic science work, and bring their real-world experience right into the classroom. Students have the ability to choose to concentrate in either chemistry or biology, and are prepared with methods used to analyze and evaluate physical evidence related to matters of criminal and civil law. Classes and research will take place in several facilities unique to UNH, including the National Cold Case Center and the Cyber Crime Lab.
