Fire Protection Engineering
Choosing to major in Fire Protection Engineering at UNH will provide the student with a solid background in mathematics, science and engineering, and enable them to apply what they have learned in real-world situations. By time graduation arrives, students are well-prepared to think critically and solve problems involving fires, smoke and explosions. A graduate is qualified to design, evaluate or test systems responsible for the reduction of fire losses. Furthermore, they can analyze current fire protection defenses of various structures and operations, and offer a more cost-effective method that will improve the level of safety. UNH graduates have landed jobs in consulting, research, insurance loss control and fire service. Any of the chosen careers may be in the private or public sector, whether it be the government, insurance companies, industry or manufacturers.
