Electrical Engineering
The Tagliatela School of Engineering at UNH houses a unique program to the student who wishes to earn a degree in electrical engineering. As one of the fastest growing careers in the world, the demand for electrical engineers is higher than ever, and companies are looking for those who have received an education like the one offered at UNH. Students may double major in either Computer Engineering or Computer Science for just one additional year, and are encouraged to take advantage of the Multidisciplinary Engineering Foundation Spiral program. With an unmatched curriculum, exceptional facilities and an experienced full-time faculty, UNH gives electrical engineering students the education they need to get ahead. In support of the Spiral program, which was developed by the faculty in the Tagliatela school, UNH offers excellent laboratories that are fully equipped with the following: digital systems, VHDL, microprocessor-based system design, networking, VLSI design, digital signal processing, electronics, image processing and fiber optics. All courses within the curriculum, taught in these labs, are instructed by experience faculty members, not student teaching assistants. Graduates of the electrical engineering program have accepted jobs in the various areas of telecommunications, fiber optics, power generation and distribution, and microchip fabrication. Well-known firms such as Hewlett-Packard, Trans Data and United Illuminating have employed UNH graduates in full-time positions.
