Computer Engineering

Computer engineering is one of the fastest growing careers in the world, and is expected to double within this decade. At UNH, the Tagliatela School of Engineering offers an outstanding program in computer engineering that will provide its graduate with a solid foundation in both hardware design and software engineering. There is an opportunity to double major in either Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, that will only take one additional year or less; this, combined with the full-time faculty, exceptional facilities and unique curriculum, makes UNH a top choice for education in computer engineering.

The Multidisciplinary Engineering Foundation Spiral is a curriculum that gives students a diverse background in the field that they are pursuing. Supporting the spiral are modern laboratories that are equipped with the following: digital systems, VHDL, microprocessor-based system design, networking, VLSI design, digital signal processing, electronics, image processing and fiber optics. All courses within the curriculum, taught in these labs, are instructed by experience faculty members, not student teaching assistants.

UNH graduates have had cutting-edge jobs in all phases of computer engineering, from design, manufacturing and maintenance to marketing and sales. Graduates of the program have been employed by well-known industries such as Pratt & Whitney, IBM and AT&T.
