Criminal Justice-Forensic Psychology

The forensic psychology concentration prepares students for professional careers and graduate work in various criminal justice and mental health settings. All courses focus on new developments and best practices from a cross-disciplinary perspective. Students take courses in:

  • Mental Health Law
  • Investigative Psychology
  • Clinical Services
  • Police Psychology
  • Abnormal Psychology
  • Criminal Law
  • Legal Psychology, and more.

Down the road, graduates of the program are prepared for a number of different career paths including investigation, profiling, counseling, and human services. Many UNH students have gone to work for the 13 federal agencies that conduct investigation, put their time in as an investigator, and then apply for an internal transfer to the FBI’s Behavioral Sciences Unit. They are also prepared to work for stress units of police departments, correctional facilities, and counseling units.
