Criminal Justice-Crime Analysis

The University of New Haven’s program in Crime Analysis prepares students to work as a crime analyst in law enforcement and criminal justice agencies. Crime Analysts use modern mathematical and spatial analysis tools to help solve crimes, manage law enforcement resources and to assist in crime prevention activities within public safety agencies.

Students will also learn how much of the highly publicized reduction in crime has been attributed to the use of improved crime analysis tools including Geographical Information Systems (GIS).  Students are required to complete a research project and to present their findings at a departmental crime research forum.  Graduates will enter the field of crime analysis as civilians or sworn officers, depending on career goals.
