Univeristy of New Haven
Computer Science

Computer Science is an exciting major at UNH, offering the student the chance to not only focus on computer science, but to also choose a specialization in an area of interest outside the program. The goals of the program are to inform, challenge and train the students for a constantly changing world of technology and prepare them for careers or graduate study by providing a solid body of knowledge and understanding of computer hardware, software, and theory.

Specializations that students often choose include mathematics, engineering, business, social sciences and multimedia. Students also have the option of pursing a double major with either Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering for just one additional year or less. The curriculum includes legal and ethical issues along with the rights and obligations of practicing professionals.

The courses are all taught by highly qualified professionals; seven members of the full-time faculty hold PhDs in their respective fields. Students are exposed to all of the latest industry research, and are active in their own research through the modern computer laboratory equipment.
