Biotechnology
A UNH Biotechnology major receives hands-on training in cellular, molecular, and biochemical techniques. A graduate of the program is well qualified to continue his or her studies by pursuing an advanced degree in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology. Recent graduates have gone on to study at UNH and other prestigious schools such as UConn School of Medicine, Tufts University School of Medicine and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Students who have successfully completed the degree at UNH have a high level of career placement in a thriving pharmaceutical and biotechnical job market. UNH graduates have been placed with leading companies such as Neurogen Corporation, Pfizer Global Research and the Yale University School of Medicine. The research done by the UNH Faculty has been recognized in the various subspecialties of Biology. Additionally, the department has attracted grant-funded research projects from governmental and private sources. The faculty use their experience to offer students extensive hands-on laboratory research in UNH's well-equipped laboratories.
