Transfer Application Process

The University of New Haven reviews applications for prospective transfer students on a rolling admissions process. This means that students can apply for admission at any time throughout the year and receive a decision shortly after submission of all required materials.

Although there is not a particular deadline, it is recommended that students apply as early as possible since space in some of our academic programs tends to fill up quickly. Typically, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions begins to review applications on September 1st for the following year's admission.

Students have the option of applying directly to the major of their choice or applying as an Undeclared Exploratory student. Applications will not be reviewed until all of the required materials have been received.

Because the University of New Haven is a proud member of the Common Application, transfer students have the option of either applying through UNH's application or through the Common Application.

Applying to UNH as a transfer student is a quick and convenient process. Our rolling admissions policy allows prospective students like you to receive a decision about your application within 2-3 weeks once your application file is complete.

Students with Over 24 Credits

Students must submit the following:

An application for admission
Non-refundable application fee - $25.00 for online application and $75.00 for paper application
Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
Complete the FAFSA by the priority deadline to apply for financial aid – March 1^st (Fall Applicants); Spring Applicants please add us to your FAFSA by November 1^st. UNH FAFSA school code is 001397.

Students with Less Than 24 Credits

Students must submit the following:

An application for admission
Non-refundable application fee - $25.00 for online application and $75.00 for paper application
Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
Official high school or G.E.D. transcript - Required for students who have completed less than 24 total earned college credits
Official SAT and/or ACT scores - Required for students who have completed less than 24 total earned college credits
Complete the FAFSA by the priority deadline to apply for financial aid – March 1^st (Fall Applicants); Spring Applicants please add us to your FAFSA by November 1^st. UNH FAFSA school code is 001397.
