  1. Back to School

So today was my first day of classes!

They were pretty okay. Unfortunately I have to take statistics ... but I'll manage! I still have to make some adjustments to my schedule because I didn't register for the right class (DRATS)!

Wheew, I am tired.  Luckily for me I do not have work today, so I guess I will use that time to unpack =[.

On  a brighter note, I don't have a roommate this semester, which I am soo happy about because I have my own room and I pushed the beds together so now I have a huge bed but I do miss my old roomie!!

Well I am going to get busy unpacking, but I just wanted to drop by and say hello.

    Later days!

  3. To the Class of 2011

    My Fellow Sophomores,

I wanted to take a minute and welcome you all back to campus this Spring Semester.  I am sure you are as glad as I am to be back with our friends and second family.  It is eye opening to think that in less than 4 months, our college adventure will be half over.  I know I am enjoying every minute of it.  I hope you agree, and are willing to work with me to better your college experience.  I am very open to any ideas you all may have, and please show your pride by coming out and supporting your class.  And if you are, I want you to continue working hard and getting involved on campus.  I ran for Class President because I wanted to be here for you all, and convey your thoughts and opinions to the administration.  So as we begin this New Year and new semester, I would like to encourage you to take advantage of all this university has to offer.  Help me help you by telling me any ideas you may have.  I wish you all the best of luck with your classes, and enjoy your time here because the next step after this is the real world.

  4. My Thoughts on the Inauguration

The end of break is finally here; in just a few days I'll be moving back into my dorm and preparing for classes the VERY next morning. I have to say, I think that I prefer being in school because I feel like I am at least doing something with myself. Nothing's changed since my last post, I am still hopelessly bored. I have a really good feeling about this semester, and I'm eager to get started.

Yes, yes...today was a historic day. I didn't vote for Obama (if you read my blog you definitely already knew that) but I watched a bit of his speech while I was at work and read all of the articles on the New York Times website. I like him solely for the fact that he's bringing a lot of people together, and that a lot of countries feel optimistic about his presidency. It really is what we need right now and it's a little relieving to see it happen. I truly don't want to see him fail, or be able to say, "I told you so," to all of the Obama supporters. I hope he can do at least some of what he promised and that in eight years (maybe four? probably not) the next president will have a smooth transition.

Still, I don't think it was a good start to rev up the economy by having the most expensive inauguration ever.

I liked Michelle Obama's outfit at the ceremony, there was certainly a lot of talk about it. Her fashion choices are not usually my favorite but she chose a great color today. Oh, and Beyonce and Jay Z in the first row...so appropriate.

Poor Bush. I really didn't mind him so much and I can't imagine the weight that has been lifted off his shoulders. I'm not sure if he will, but I hope he gets a warm welcome at home. I think people fail to forget that he wasn't the only one in the administration. Also, I really really wonder who Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will get their material from...Bush was ALWAYS mentioned on every episode at least once. The next big target will probably be the Clintons (can't say I'll mind).

Well, I'm off to plan my day in New York City tomorrow. Check back, I'll be updating more that break is nearly over.

  5. Excuse me, Mr. President.

I don’t think I have ever seen a President’s face more publicized in society then Barack Obama’s.  I think his only competition would have to be George Washington and Abraham Lincoln because we see them every day when we look in our wallets.  I guess that is what has come with my generation; the media is a powerful tool from the news to Facebook and Myspace.  “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek” Barack Obama.  When I go out and look at my peers I see that traditional, I don’t want to say values but more concepts, beliefs have continued to fade to the point where we are the generation who was ready to accept and embrace an African American President.  When I first heard of his candidacy I was quickly drawn to the idea of this “change.”  I am very interested to see how he will change our nation as we know it, and “If the people cannot trust their government to do the job for which it exists - to protect them and to promote their common welfare - all else is lost” Barack Obama.

Now to compliment the first part of my blog I want to talk about the now Ex-President George Bush.  I have to give this man props, he had an incredibly difficult two terms and with more and more people turning their backs on him he continued to do his job the best he could.  We have to remember we elected him into that position and that means that we trusted his judgment to make the decisions he did, not matter how wrong we now see they were.  Now don’t get me wrong, I will greatly miss all of his Bush-isms and the other vast amount of Bush related jokes.  I’m not gonna lie, the main reason I loved watching David Letterman was for his Top 10 Bush Moments.  Listening to Bush speak always made me laugh, right up until his final Press Interview.  So I want to give him a pat on the back and hope he enjoys retirement on his Texas Ranch.

Can you imagine being an employer and seeing President of the United States on someone’s Resume?

Please Comment, I want to hear your favorite Bush-ism, or joke.

  6. Drastic Changes

It’s been a while, I know. I hope everyone is doing alright… probably enjoying a few snow days in the past two weeks or so. Break finally started getting fun now and I seem to have things to do every single night. I’ve just been hanging out with friends and preparing for this semester get underway.

New things about me: I got new glasses and I just cut my hair completely different and got it highlighted! So excited! I absolutely love my new glasses and my new hair! I needed to make some changes to myself and I’m so happy I finally did these things. I love the new me and is definitely a great change to my appearance. I always felt that in order to move on from things in your life, you needed to make a major change. I needed new glasses anyways so now I have really cute, fun, red ones. And hair is just hair so I made some drastic changes to it and I LOVE it! So now that I’ve made those changes to myself, I feel like a new me and I can move forward in a new direction in my life which is what I definitely needed.

I move back to school in the next few days or so. I’m moving back earlier than everyone else so I can work. So I’ll be working in the Admissions Office starting next week. Woo! I’m actually really excited for it because I’ve been on break long enough doing absolutely nothing productive so I really want to get back to work to make some money. Plus I would love to move in before my roommates so I can get all settled in and relax without anyone to bother me. I enjoy time by myself so five or six days will be nice. And I get to see everyone at the office again which would be nice. I’ve definitely missed some of them ;-)

By the way my twentieth birthday is two weeks from today!!! :-) Woohoo! But in the mean time, everyone stay healthy, and I’ll talk to you again soon!

  7. Happy New Year ... Yawn.

Hi everyone, happy new year! 2009 has been one big yawn so far...I was stuck in on New Year's Eve because we had a gross storm, but I was with my boyfriend and my mom had her friends over so it wasn't too bad. I've mostly just been home watching The Office on Netflix and eating all of the leftovers. The holidays were great and I'm so sad that they're over. Now I'm just anxious to make some money over the break and get back to school.

I started back in the UNH admissions office Monday. It's been sort of quiet visitor-wise but I have had plenty to do. After work on Monday I went to the gym for a little while. I'm so glad that it's open for break. I didn't get to go Tuesday night, though, because my mom was hounding me to get home before this snow storm starts.

For the rest of this week I'm just working, except for Thursday when I have jury duty (not excited for that). Working is pretty much going to be my entire break, but after last year's winter break I vowed to never again go on an extended break and not have a job. I was miserably bored this time last year. My job may not be the most exciting but at least I'm making money, which is much better because when I do have a day off I can go shopping.

And to think, three weeks from now I'll be doing homework again...

  8. A New Year Has Begun

Well the New Year is here, and now is the time to set our goals for the next 365 days.  What were some of your New Year’s resolutions?  I know like many others, mine is to lose weight and get fit.  I want to bring my weight down to about 170-175 which is about 10 pounds.  Therefore you all will see me at the Rec Center a lot more.  So anyone out there that shares my resolution you can join me =).  Also anyone out there reading this that has any tips and tricks for eating right, dropping the pounds, and building muscle, please post a comment and share your knowledge.

I can’t wait to get back to school; it is kind of funny how I eat so much better when I am at school.  It must be that there are so many healthy alternatives available to me, and I don’t even have to cook, woohoo.  I think my main change will be drastically increasing my fruits and vegetables intake.  So everyone wish me luck, and if you see me with a cookie slap it out of my hand.

Well I hope everyone is enjoying their time at home, resting, working, etc.  But just remember that there is only a little less than a month left so make it last =).  I know I can’t wait for the 15th; I will go going to NYC to see Phantom of the Opera…I’m so excited!!!

So let’s hear it:  What are your resolutions?  What are your tips for those of us looking to get fit? And I’m curious, what have you been up to over Winter Break???

  9. My Uggs

Christmas with the family was good. It was good to see my aunt and cousin from North Carolina. We see them once every two years or so, so it’s always nice to see them and catch up on things. My cousin is going off to college next year which is pretty scary to think about. I’m the oldest child in my family, so it’s really weird to see my cousin and sister growing up so fast.

I got the Uggs that I wanted for Christmas! And then I got lots of odds and ends stuff that I needed like shampoo & conditioner, body wash, a new toothbrush, gift cards, etc. But my favorite part of the holidays was most definitely eating TONS of food! I probably gained 10 pounds in like two days but no worries… I have the rest of break to work it off.

I have no plans for New Years yet, but I will definitely be doing something. I haven’t decided my new year’s resolution yet but I probably should make more than one lol. Alright well I hope everyone’s holidays were good. Have a safe and happy new year!!! Talk to you soon.

  10. Home for a welcome break

I’ve been home for a couple days now… which has been good so far. This break was definitely needed! I’m so glad the semester is over because I was over schoolwork weeks ago.

I enjoyed the snow for about a day and now I’m over it because I can’t go anywhere because the roads are bad. So the snow needs to melt so I can actually see my friends that I haven’t seen in months…

All my grades are posted and I’m satisfied with them. I’m actually impressed that I did alright in physics because I honestly did not expect to pass that class. It was brutal. But I passed! Woo! Next semester I’m going to take it a bit easier so I can boost my GPA a little bit and not stress myself out as much as I did this past semester. I think the stress got the best of me and that contributed to me being so sick and sick so often.  Hopefully I can make it through next semester without getting really sick again.

Soooo excited for Christmas! Family is coming up from North Carolina to visit for the holidays so it’ll be nice to see them. It’s been like two years since I’ve seen them so it’ll be a good reunion. We’re having a get together on Christmas Eve night at our house and then dinner is at our house too. Definitely looking forward to all the good food. And of course Christmas presents are always great too!!!

I guess that’s it for now. Everyone have a safe and healthy holiday. Don’t eat too many cookies and make smart decisions! Talk to you soon!

  11. I changed my mind ...

Well, I am home and locked up in this snow storm...my mom is upstairs making a ton of cookies and I just wrapped some presents to be put under the tree. I don't mind being snowed in like this because it gives me a chance to finally relax, knowing that I'm finished with EVERYTHING. My last exam and moving out both went smoothly and I was home by 3 on Wednesday afternoon.

You all know I'm a double major, and that it's definitely a tough thing to do. This week I made the decision to drop my Music Industry major to a minor and take on Communication full-time. I have some mixed feelings on this, because I always loved my Music Industry major and thought that no matter what, I would always stick with it. Well, this is how I'm looking at it now:

My mom was spending a TON of extra money because I was taking a lot of extra courses, over both the semesters and breaks. Money isn't really a problem in my family, but I know I want to continue my education after undergrad and that the extra money would be put to a better use if it were saved for grad school. I chose to drop Music Industry because there are more classes in that major that I just don't plan on using later on, like music theory and recording. Dropping to a minor only requires a couple of theory classes, which I've already taken, and then the core classes of the Music Industry major: Intro to Music Industry; Promotion, Production and Distribution; and Legal Issues.

It just makes more sense in the long run...what I want to do most is to write. I've loved to write my entire life, and I'll get to continue that with Communication. I still plan to work toward a career in music - I want to be either a rock journalist or an entertainment lawyer. I also will still be involved in music activities on and off campus...they're not limited to music majors! And it will be nice that once I get to grad school, my mom will be able to help me pay for it. So, I really think that I made the right choice on this one.

If I so happen to change my mind AGAIN - which is likely - you can read all about it here. Over the break, I'll keep you updated on what's going on and I'll be at UNH four days a week to work...I just can't stay away from this place.

Have a great holiday, check back after the New Year!

  12. Have a good break!

This is my last blog for the semester. I got home for Christmas Break last night. I just finished up the last of my shopping, and I am just hanging out, taking it easy, relaxing…finally. It was really busy for a Friday morning. I start my internship on Monday with the East Hartford Fire Marshall’s office. I am really looking forward to it. It should be a lot of fun as well as a very good experience to learn from. Internships are required in the Fire Science Department, with each student having to work a minimum of 150 hours. So, that is what I will be doing all break. I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday, and I’ll start blogging again next semester.

  13. It's Over!

I cannot believe the semester is already over! It seems like time flew by, with all the exams, trips, sports games and of course, homework.  Tonight is the last night students are allowed to stay on campus and it’s sad to see everyone leave. I’ll be here all winter working in the admissions, so if you stop by campus for an info session and tour, I’m your girl. Although the break from classes will be so amazing and much-needed, it’s so long that by the end of it most of us are tearing our hair out to come back.

Exams weren’t as bad as I thought they would be this semester. I had a portfolio due for creative writing and it was a lot of fun writing poems and stories to amuse myself. I only have 3 grades back out of 6, and I'm really hoping for all A’s this semester.

I’m really excited for next semester though because my classes seem really interesting and I only have class three days a week.  I’ve started this new organizing kick for the new semester, with color-coded things and folders and markers everywhere—it’s kind of nuts but I'm hoping it works out to my advantage.

  14. Christmas in New York

It is Tuesday and I have 2 finals left until I am home on Thursday! Kinda crazy just thinking about it, I will have one semester left until I graduate college. But, since last week I have been really busy. I had two finals on Friday, and then after that I went to New York City with my girlfriend to see the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Plaza. It was the first time I have ever gone to the city to do that. It was really easy to get there. It was $28 for a round trip ticket on Metro North from New Haven to Grand Central in New York.

From there it was a two block walk to 5th Ave, and then it was a seven block walk up 5th Ave to the tree. We also went to F.A.O. Schwarz and the Apple Store. Our last stop was Macy’s to see the cool stuff they had in their windows. Sunday was of course football, and yesterday I had a final. Everything is wrapping up so quickly. I’ll blog one more time before I go home to talk about Christmas break. Have fun and be safe!

  15. One Final Left!

I only have one final left, it's a great feeling but I am left with nothing to do since a lot of people have finals tomorrow. My last one, Human Communication, isn't until Wednesday so the next couple of days are going to be spent packing, Christmas shopping, studying and doing some last minute things.

Thursday night was spent studying for Physics but I unfortunately came down with some sort of stomach bug. I'd been feeling sick all week and it was awful that night. I only got about three hours of sleep, and on any other night it wouldn't be a huge deal except I had my final at 8 a.m. You know it's bad when you're already awake when the alarm goes off at 7. I dragged myself out of bed to take the exam and came back only to lay down for three hours. I studied for Writing for the Media and then took that exam at 2, which went well but I was still feeling terrible. As soon as I finished I went straight home where my mom made me a grilled cheese (the first thing I ate in 24 hours) and went to bed.

I made a trip to the mall to buy my Secret Santa gift, and the next morning my mom and I went to pick out our tree. It didn't snow, but I was glad because it was freezing anyway. My friends came over to decorate and we made cookies...the decorating on those came out terribly but it was fun. I came back to school and exchanged gifts. My Secret Santa gave me two phone charms, a K and a guitar, I was excited because I lovee phone charms.

We went to a Christmas party which was fun, and now today I've been doing nothing. Only a few days until home, yay!

  16. Finals Have Begun

This is probably the best and worst time of the year for most students.  I have kept up with all of my work and now, when for most students it is down to the wire, I am able to relax and just do the best I can.  It is times like this when it pays to be studious all semester long, because while some are calculating what they need to get a passing grade, students like me are deciding whether we want the A or B.  I am enjoying lounging in my room playing Wii and watching movies, while others are literally in pain from stress.

Now is the time where it is crucial to use your time management skills, and rely on your friends to help you out and study with you.  I know what works for me it teaching other people.  At the beginning of the year I went to Sam’s Club and bought a $14 white board and $3 pack of colored Expo markers, and it have been the best review tool I have ever purchased.  Without a doubt, every time we had an organic chemistry or physics test a couple friends of mine and I would pull out the white board, sit on my futon, and make up problems for each other to solve.  I had to have been the best a person could have had studying.

Well I guess I should get back to work, I have a Music paper I need to write, and then start studying with my friends for OChem and Physics.  It is crazy to think how fast the semester went by, and that in just a month I’ll be right back here at UNH for the Spring Semester.  Don’t worry folks, even though the semester is over, this will not be the end of my Blog! =)

  17. A quick post

It’s Wednesday, and it is the last day of classes! It is great to be finally done with this semester. Tomorrow we have day off to study, and finals start Friday. It is crazy just to think about that in a little more than a week, I will be done with half of my senior year. So, this is just a quick check in. There is a lot of studying to do to prepare for the finals that I have this Friday. Take it easy and stay safe.

  18. One More Week ...

One more week and I will be home free! I aced my Music Theory final this morning and I'm feeling good about the rest of my finals, Physics being the exception. Fortunately, I'm not too worried about it just yet. In a little while I'm going to start studying for Music Industry and Physics...I can't wait to get everything out of the way.

I'm even more excited to go home for the night on Friday, except the forecast says snow and I'm hoping I can get out of my Media Writing final early enough that the roads are still safe. It's from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. so I should be fine. It will be so great to have some snow on the ground when my mom and I go pick out the tree and when my friends come over to help decorate and bake cookies. It will be a nice Christmas-y afternoon with lots of the 'Nsync Christmas CD playing.

That night my friends back at UNH friends are having a Christmas party and it will be a great way for everyone to get together at the end of the semester. I'll miss my friends but I am absolutely ecstatic to go home and stay there. It's going to be a nice break :)

  19. My Weekend

It’s the last Monday of classes. Wednesday is the last day of classes for the semester. Period. I cannot wait. It seems like only yesterday the semester started but when looking back it was so long ago. This past Saturday was the Snowball, the school’s semi-formal dinner and dance. It was a great time; my friends and I had a blast. The next day we went ice-skating. I hadn’t skated in years. It was weird getting on the ice, and I’m not going to lie, I was a bit wobbly when I first got on.

Once, I got my skating legs back, I had to help my friend Ashley find hers. Totally unsuccessful. She did her best, but never got going. It was another great time. I really enjoyed going. Then of course, Sunday meant football. The Patriots played a great game yesterday afternoon against the Seahawks. I was happy to see them play some great football when it counted. It wasn’t pretty but it was a win. That win moves them in a three-way tie in their division, the AFC East, with the Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets.

So, there was my weekend in a nutshell. This week is going to be crazy with classes finishing up and finals starting. So, take it easy and stay safe!

  20. Tis the Season

The holiday cookies are in the oven, students are assembling their artificial trees with fire-proof lights, and now we have SNOW on the ground.  Getting back from Snowball and seeing the flakes in the air was a perfect end to the night, and now seeing all this holiday spirit all I’m missing is all my family back home.  Things just aren’t the same when you are looking at the menorah with bulbs instead of candles or oil.  But of course those would not be allowed in the resident halls lol.

But I do enjoy all of the holiday treats, especially cookies.  I am a sucker for a good ol’ traditional chocolate chip cookie with a nice glass of milk.  Mmm I’m getting hungry just thinking about it, I guess it is a good thing two other resident assistants and myself will be making cookies tonight for a program with our residents.  And boy I can’t wait!!!

Unfortunately in all this holiday splendor, we need to snap back into reality and remember we all need to study for our finals.  I know I am having a bit of trouble staying motivated so close to the end.  I have worked so hard all semester long; I am done and ready for some much deserved rest.

What are your plans for winter break???

  21. Time is Running Out!

    Hey All,

So, it is the end of the semester. This is the most stressful part of the year. It feels like everything is just piling up one thing after another. I feel like I need more time to get all of this stuff done but I don't have it. I am trying not to stress that hard because I know I am going to get it done one way or another! I can't wait until the 18th, thats my last day and then I have a month to relax! I need the vacation desperately. Today I have two tests back to back =[, I don't know how I am going to do but I am hoping for the best since I  have been studying. After classes  I have to go to work from 4 - 11, ughh I so don't want to go but I am going. Not to mention I am sick! Well I am going to get back to studying because I need to ace these tests!!

    Later days!

  22. Finals are Coming

It's finally started...the countdown to finals. I've been swamped all week with assignments and tests and papers, it's nice to get a second to sit down and breathe! And of course, in the midst of all my work, my wonderful computer "forgot" my entire user profile. So that meant all of my papers, notes, and pieces for my creative writing final portfolio were nowhere to be found. After much freaking out, I took my laptop to IT early the next morning and when I picked it up in a few days everything was found! It was such a relief--and the IT department was awesome about fixing it and keeping me informed.

I just got back from running a few Christmas errands, and doing a little studying at the Starbucks near campus. Sometimes it's nice to be away for a few hours to clear my head and get some heavy duty work done.

Last night was the first snowfall for us down in West Haven, and it was so pretty! Within half an hour of it beginning to snow kids were already outside making snowballs, and when I walked around campus this morning I could tell that people had been trying to sled last night too. I like the snow, but I'm not the biggest fan of the cold that comes with it.

Alright gotta go--Online Parent Chat in a few!

  23. I got my computer back!

After a few weeks of madness, I finally have my laptop back (again). It feels like new because everything was erased and fixed, but I only have 17 iTunes songs right now and I am NOT liking it. Of course, 15 of those songs come from the new Britney Spears CD so I am surviving (go buy it!). Hopefully I can get more music soon...I asked for plenty of gift cards for Christmas.

I cannot believe how time is flying by, I will be home a week and a half from now. My roommates and I are trying to coordinate a night for our Secret Santa but we are all so busy with finals that it's pretty much impossible. We wanted to exchange gifts and watch a movie but it doesn't look like there will be time. It's too bad but I just want to be home for awhile at this point. Despite finals, this is still my favorite time of the year and it just doesn't quite feel like Christmas until it's time to go home.

Coming up this week I have the last of my classes and four finals on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I'll probably go home that weekend to put up the tree at home, and then I don't have my last final until the following Wednesday.

The MyUNHSpace is getting ready to launch, and I'm on it so all the students admitted should go join! I'll also be on the Prospective Parent Chat on Sunday in case any of your parents have questions about student life, that should be interesting. Last chat someone asked me if Maxcy Hall was haunted (don't worry, no one lives there). I've heard it is but I don't know much about it so I guess you'll have to come find out for yourselves, because I certainly don't want to.

So today I had an Organic Chemistry Test, and it was on, in my opinion, the 4 most difficult chapters of the semester.  These chapters were discussed rather quickly, and difficult to memorize everything.  Therefore I had planned to set aside time to study all week before hand, but as we know with life things get pushed aside.  Next thing I knew I was Wednesday and I needed to study.  So I brought all of my notes downstairs to look at while sitting on duty in New Hall.  I thought, “Hey I have 5 hours of just sitting here I could get some major studying done.”  Well I was wrong.  I got downstairs and had about an hour of studying before I got derailed by my duties as an RA.  To make a long story short, I got little studying done and I just got back from the test.  I used every second of time that I was allotted and I did my best.

Moral of the story kids, don’t bank on studying at the last minute.  Not only are you risking not recalling the information at all, but you are also risking not even getting to look at the material.  You need to plan ahead and manage your time to make sure you follow your studying schedule.

  25. The Big 20!

This week things are finally starting to get better. I’m feeling much better and I’m slowly getting all my schoolwork done before finals. Classes are done next Wednesday!!! Woohoo! I’m so excited to be done with this semester because it’s been so difficult. Winter break could not come at a better time… it is definitely needed right now so I’m really looking forward to having a break from all the work for over a month. And then my birthday is a few days after we come back after break so I’ll get to have fun going out to dinner and opening presents with my roommates and friends. Woo the big 20!

I think that’s all the big news for now. I’m about to go to class now… third to last calculus II class! Everyone enjoy your last few weeks of classes before winter break as well! I’ll post again soon.

  26. Hump-Day

It’s Wednesday. The midpoint of the week. Hump-day for some, but not for me. That was yesterday. I have the most classes on Tuesday, and as long as I survive them, the rest of the week is a walk in the park. Not much to talk about today, just some reminders. The first is that this Sunday, December 7, there is a prospective parent online chat. So if your parents have any questions regarding the University of New Haven, just send them our way. The website for the chat is: www.newhaven.edu/chat. The chat will be from 7:00 – 9:00 PM.

Also coming quickly around the corner is our Winter Open House. That will be Sunday, February 1, 2009. For more information about that you can go here: www.newhaven.edu/openhouse. Have a great night!

  27. Back from Break

So I am back from break DRATS, but its okay. I almost missed being on campus lol, emphasis on almost! There is nothing like being home sleeping in your own bed and lounging on your own couch. Not to mention I hate packing and unpacking, my stuff still isn't unpacked! My thanksgiving was good, I ate a bunch of food and did some house hopping like I do every year. I wisht he break was a few days longer but oh well. Winter break is around the corner.
The first night back was fun though I just hung out with my roomies and chilled! I got back kinda late so there wasnt much to do.Monday was another story! As I get in my car to go to work and put my key in the ignition to my surprise IT DOES NOT START!!! I had 15 mins to get to work and my car was acting crazy. I was stuck on stupid! I was like why do I have a brand new car and its acting up!!! So now I have to run around take my car to the doctor. I just got back from Honda and I have to get it towed so until then I have no clue what is wrong =[.
Thank goodness for warranties!! I hope I don't have to pay a dime! Anyway class is starting so I have to go!  Later Days!!

  28. Tough Week Ahead ...

This test, that paper, what club meeting, we have a review???  Gotta love that week before finals where teachers are realizing they are not going to finish everything on their syllabus, and students are realizing that that paper they had all semester to do is due at the end of the week…lovely!!!  And to make matters worse we all have just gotten back from that teaser of a break we call Thanksgiving, and we can feel the end of the semester creeping ever closer.  Therefore tensions and anxieties are running high, and we all just want to get our work done, and enjoy our month and a half off.

I know for me I need to figure out how to balance studying, doing the last of my assignments, and completely my obligations to all of my separate organizations.  I know I’m looking forward to just getting to next week and getting my finals over with.  I’m excited for next semester because I created an interesting schedule and I’m interested to see how it will go.

So come on everyone relax, keep calm, and stay positive.  They are just tests and I’m sure you all will do just fine, so study hard and keep your eye on the light at the end of the tunnel.

  29. My iTunes U interview with Marty O'Connor

We’re back from Thanksgiving break. Hope you all had a happy holiday. I had enough turkey to last me a long time, and I watched enough blowouts in the NFL to make me lose interest in the game for a day.

The week was a much needed break away from school and classes. I was able to sleep in for the first time in I don’t know how long, and I got to see a lot of people that I went to school with that I haven’t seen in awhile. It was great to be able to go out and grab a few beers and catch up with one another. There was an alumni reunion night at one of the local bars, so my friends and I went to go see kids we went to high school with. It was also great to see my grandparents and all my aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Now it is really crunch time here on campus. It’s December 1st and the semester ends the 19th. There are papers and finals to prepare for. It’s time to snap back to reality. Have a great night.

P.S. Before Thanksgiving Break I recorded an iTunesU interview with Marty O’Connor. If you have iTunes you can go here to listen to it by clicking this link (be sure you have iTunes installed on your computer!)

  30. I'm Baaaack!

I know it's been a while since I last posted, but I've been busy with schoolwork and working in Admissions and moving that the time has just completely slipped by me!

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to participate in a live videochat for CollegeWeekLive's online college fair. A bunch of students were able to log into a chat room to ask me questions about UNH and campus life, and with my webcam and drive-thru style microphone headset I was able to answer all of the questions live. It was weird at first seeing myself knowing that a lot of people were seeing me too, asking me questions and waiting for me to respond. After a while I really got into it and definately had fun. Online chats are tough because you can't answer every single question and a lot of people get upset if their question isnt answered, not realizing how many other people there are in the room. I would love to do it again because I had so much fun, and if you're interested in seeing it, just head on over to collegeweeklive.com and check out UNH's page.

I just got back from Thanksgiving break and I have mixed emotions--I couldn't wait to get back, but I have absolutely no desire to do work or get ready for exams. Classes end in two weeks, and I cannot believe how fast the semester flew by. I know I'm going to have to push myself for the rest of the semester beacause it's crunch time baby!

Going home is always nice, with mom's food and my old bed, and Thanksgiving is always the best because there's twice the amount of food as well as twice the amout of sleep. Every year my friends from back home and I all get together for Thanksgiving Part Deux, where we have our own turkey, stuffing, cranberrries and all that good stuff together the day after Thanksgiving. This year was a little different with Pizza and Cookies, but it was still nice to get to see everyone. Every year it's tougher and tougher to get everyone together, but when we do its just like old times.

Alright well I've got to get a jump on all that homework--see you soon!
