Sorry it’s been so long since my last post!! I’ve been quite busy! This past Thursday (when I usually like to write my blogs) I had to go dress shopping for my friend’s wedding (which was Friday night). Then Saturday I had a community service event to go to with my sorority sisters. Then I worked all day Sunday and that night had elections for our leadership team and coordinators. We currently have about fifty sisters in the sorority and about thirty positions to fill, so we were there for a while!
So I’m going to take this opportunity to tell you the truth about Greek Life, at UNH anyways! For those of you who watch that show on TV…it’s nothing like that! We do like to have socials and mixers with other sororities and fraternities, but drinking is never involved. Sometimes we just watch movies or sporting events, other times we like to have dinner together or go bowling together. However, most of the events we have are community service or related to one of our philanthropies. We have one huge event that we hold every year called Deepher Dude. It’s kind of a male beauty pageant, but it is so much fun! We have held it twice since we’ve become a chapter, and both times we’ve raised over $1000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Greek Life is really growing at UNH. I definitely suggest attending recruitment events to find out if Greek Life is something you’d be interested in. Heck, I really suggest just getting involved in any club or organization. I can guarantee you’re time at UNH will be much more exciting and memorable if you do. Ok, time to study for my biochem exam now!
