So after a long week, I have one lab standing between me and Spring Break! Though I have to admit, it won’t be much of a break. As part of my honor’s program requirements I have to write an Honor’s Thesis. That’s a 20-30 page research basically!! I’ve been doing research on canine hairs and nail clippings and their use as evidence…basically microscopy and DNA. It has been a lot of work, but it’s a great way to work one on one with instructors and gain that knowledge/experience that grad schools and employers really look for.
Along with working on my thesis, I’ll be working on my speech for graduation!! I’m a pretty good public speaker, but not a great speech writer. So for the next two months I’ll be trying to perfect it, and hopefully it won’t put anyone to sleep! Being class president has been a lot of fun, but I didn’t realize until this year that I had to speak at graduation… It makes me a little nervous, but my parents (who don’t know I’m speaking yet) will be really excited!
If you’re interested in being a class officer, I would definitely recommend it. You can plan all sorts of fun events, but most importantly you get to do all of the planning for the Snow Ball (our annual winter semi-formal) and Senior Week. The senior class officers just met today to finalize pretty much everything for Senior Week. This year we’re going on a trip to New York City and taking a dinner cruise that night .I’m super excited, it should be a lot of fun!
Well I’m flying out for Spring Break early Friday morning. I don’t know if I’ll have access to a computer while I’m gone, so you may not hear from me until next Thursday…don’t miss me too much!!
