The first three SOAR sessions have definitely set the bar high. As an Orientation Leader, I have very high expectations for the next 3 groups of incoming students!

 

Here is my recap of the first SOAR:

 

Day one was a little less than fun to play outside because of the extreme amounts of rain in the North East. It was doable though… we made do with the indoor space provided. The OL skits were extremely funny as usual. We always outdo ourselves! The food was amazing! And everyone seemed to enjoy the very busy day. As for the night activities, everyone loved comedian Joe Matarese (so funny)! The other activities went well too.

 

Day two started out cloudy, but ended up being a gorgeous day! The special surprise at the end of the day was a hit! It is definitely a great way to end the SOAR Experience! Incoming students exited with the Orientation staff at their highest energy level (saying goodbye was really tough)!

This is my last blog…ever. I just took my last exam of my undergraduate career here at UNH, and it feels great. Now, it is on to Senior Week activities.

 

As I look back on my time here at UNH, I have to say that it was everything I expected coming into college and more. It truly was the best four years of my life. I will definitely never forget the people I met here and the friends I have made.

 

It was really sad this past week as I took down all the posters and pictures in my room, and cleaned out my desk. It was weird not having to go to class anymore, knowing that I will never be in an undergraduate class again. It was also weird not having to go to work anymore after going to work everyday for the past two years.

 

I have no idea what I am going to do now…I need to have surgery on my arm again because I broke a screw that is holding part of my elbow together. So, that throws my summer out the window, and puts a big kink in the job search. But, I know something will turn up.

Okay, so now I hate being busy. It's no fun this week. I haven't even had a chance to work because I have so many things to do with finals; good thing it was just my birthday or I might be a little short on cash. Regardless, I am soooo close to being finished and that's pushing me forward.

So far, I've had a final in my music industry class and in Intercultural Communication. The music one, unfortunately, could not have been worse, simply because a lot of it was on production, a.k.a. stuff I don't know. But it's fine because we get the lowest grade dropped so I should finish with a B+ or so (I am usually obsessed with A's but with that final, I'll settle for a B). I'm sure, however, that I will get an A in Intercultural Communication, as well as Persuasive Communication - the final for that was a debate, and my team won!

In African American Images my final grade was a paper that I handed in on Tuesday so we'll see how that goes. Just two more finals and I'm done!

Tomorrow is the TV Production Fundamentals final, and we have to hand in our movie. My disc drive decided to be awesome (sarcasm) and delete everything I had on it, so I pretty much had to start from scratch. It was rough but I like how everything has come out so far and I think it will be even better than if I had used my original materials. Tomorrow I'm just going to add the video from the production I directed (which came out really well) and hopefully I'll be all set.

I'm off to study and maybe play some Wii before bed. Good luck studying for your finals! :)
