"Algebra: 'May the force be with you!': A Workshop on the Algebra You Need to Succeed"

We'll look at the dos and don'ts in powers and radicals, revisit proper factoring and expansion, brush up on simplification techniques, relearn manipulating fractions to our advantage, and set-up and solve equations in more than one way. Bring your questions.

"APA Format: Cracking the Code"

This workshop concerns the APA format for research papers, especially the reference page and proper citations.

"Applications of Microsoft Excel for Statistical Analysis"

This workshop will present students with Microsoft Excel Data Analysis applications for generating descriptive statistics and developing linear regression equations and graphs.

"Argument and the Evidence to Support It"

Do you find it difficult to formulate an argument? Once you have developed one, do you struggle to present evidence from the text to support it? Using templates and other means, we will explore some strategies you can use. We will consider integration of quoted material into your essay using correct MLA in-text citations and "unpacking" of keywords to strengthen and support your central argument.

"The Art of Rhetorical Analysis: Classical and Toulmin Methods"

This workshop will help students develop strategies to complete a masterful rhetorical analysis. To analyze an argument rhetorically means to examine the author's writing strategies and what makes it an effective or ineffective piece of persuasive writing. A rhetorical analysis summarizes a text's main ideas and thesis, and presents some key points about the rhetorical writing strategies aimed at a specific audience. This workshop will focus on a writer's situation, purpose, audience and claims.

We'll explore some simple ways to work with percentages, and, in just a few minutes, fractions will become your friends. "Today's Initiatives, Tomorrow's Success: Career Techniques"

This is a general career building workshop that is open for students that may need some tips on jumpstarting their careers. The presenters will explain the importance of internships, how to find internships, resume tips, and basic interviewing tips. The presenters will share their experiences and explore other students' experiences and goals. Their goals are to motivate fellow classmates to reach their highest potential in their career and emphasize the utilization of our career development center as a major resource UNH offers.

"Understanding Circuits"

This workshop covers the following topics in relation to Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Physics: overview of Ohm's law, Kirchoff's voltage and current law, finding equivalent resistors in a circuit by combining series and parallel resistors, charging and discharging of a capacitor, Mesh and Nodal Analysis, Thevenin's and Norton equivalent circuits, operational amplifiers, voltage across inductors and current through capacitors, conversion of inductors and capacitors to impedance and treat them as a resistor, and different ways to deal with the conversion from polar to rectangle and rectangle to polar form using a calculator.

"Victory Over Vectors"

Vectors are quantities with magnitude and direction and are fundamental to physics and engineering. They are presented both geometrically (as arrows) and analytically (using components). We will review vector operations (dot and cross products).
