Tess is a Forensic Science and Chemistry double major. She is a very outgoing person and is always smiling. She has been an orientation leader for the past two summers. She is also the Sergeant at Arms of the A-Team and is in the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society as well as the Alpha Phi Sigma Honor Society. Megan is a junior majoring in Forensic Biology. Ever since she was little, she possessed a love for science and law. After watching Diagnosis Murder and Forensic Files, her passion for working with biological evidence became quite clear. After graduation, she hopes to attend law school in hopes of fulfilling her dream job as a Forensics Attorney. Aside from school, she enjoys being involved in Ambassador's for Christ and going on retreats. In her free time, Meg loves playing sports, especially basketball and softball, spending time with friends and being involved on campus. Rob was an undergraduate student at UNH double majoring in Forensic Science and Chemistry. Currently, he is a graduate student at UNH in Education. Before joining the CLR in 2009, he tutored math and chemistry for the CAMEP program. He participated in the SURF program during the summer of 2009, researching with Dr. Sinha of the Physics department. Peter Intarapanich holds a Ph.D. in Applied Statistics from the University of Northern Colorado, Colorado. Sheela Kar holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, MA and a Juris Doctor Degree from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT. Mr. Lardas holds an MS in Aerospace Science and a BS in Astronomy and Physics from the University of Michigan. He was a researcher for the Environmental Research Institute of Michigan (Infrared Information and Analysis) in Ann Arbor, MI and the MITRE Corporation in Bedford, MA, and worked for various NASA contractors in Houston, TX before coming to Connecticut to work for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford. He taught high school science and college algebra before coming to the CLR at UNH. He is also the Rector of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Stratford. He is fluent in Russian and Modern Greek and has translated technical documents from Russian to English. He is interested in mathematics, physical sciences, history, languages, and philosophy. Shican is an undergraduate from China who is majoring in Biology (pre-med) and wants to be a great doctor in the future. Shican is a very friendly chemistry and mathematics tutor in the CLR. She loves science as well as literature and the arts, and she enjoys playing the Chinese zither and writing poems in her free time. She is also a UNH Diversity Peer Educator, and a member of the UNH Elm City Review, Honor’s Student Council, Rotaract Club and the International Student Association. Xu Kevin Lin, a.k.a. Dr. “Kevin” Lin, is a chemist. He received 4 degrees in chemistry: a BS and MS in China and an MS and Ph.D. in the United States. Dr. Lin was an associate professor in chemistry and holds more than 10 years of experience in the United States pharmaceutical industry. Currently, Dr. Lin is working as a CMC consultant for a pharmaceutical company and as a professional tutor in the CLR Dr. Lin greatly enjoys providing academic help for students along with other tutors in the CLR to make students’ lives better at UNH and in the future. Jifeng Liu is an undergraduate majoring in Mathematics at UNH. He enjoys solving math problems with different methods and he loves statistics. Besides peer tutoring, he is a math mentor in the math department. His duties include helping new math students get ready for their campus lives. Kristin is an undergraduate student at UNH majoring in Tourism and Event Management as part of the Hospitality Department. In her two years at UNH, she has been an Event Coordinator for the Hospitality Department as well as a Hazell Nut Cafe employee and manager. As part of the College of Business, Kristin was inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta National Business Honor Society in May, 2010. She is a member of the 5678 Dance Team, and served as President during the 2009-2010 academic year. Kristin is also involved in the three Hospitality clubs at UNH. Lisa Ren earned her Bachelor's of Economics degree at the China University of Geosciences in Wuhan, China in 2010. She is currently a graduate student pursuing her Master's degree in Business Administration in the College of Business at UNH. In addition, she hopes to be an investment manager in the future. She is eager to learn about different cultures and feels happy when helping others. During her spare time, she likes playing the piano, hiking, traveling and photography. Mrs. Uebelacker holds an MA in Math from Syracuse University and a BS in Math from Le Moyne College. She has been an adjunct math instructor at UNH since 1978 and has enjoyed working with individual students in the Math Lab since its inception. She enjoys quilting in her free time. Dr. George Vasu Dr. Vasu earned a master's degree in Physics, with a dissertation on the applications of the Bethe-Salpeter equation in quantum electrodynamics, followed by a doctorate in Physics from the University of Bucharest, Romania. His doctoral dissertation is on the statistical mechanics/statistical thermodynamics of ionic fluids. He is experienced in science research, industry, teaching, and tutoring. Peter earned his Bachelor of Law Degree in Health Law from Southern Medical University in Guangzhou, China, in 2008. He is currently a graduate student pursuing his M.S. degree in Health Care Administration at UNH. At the same time, he serves as a volunteer administrative intern for Columbus House, a charity organization for ending homelessness in New Haven.
