Physical Chemistry

Used for CH333-334 Physical Chemistry I & II courses. This lab includes facilities for vacuum techniques, compressed gas handling, and cryogenics with temperature, pressure and flow transducers interfaced to PCs for the study of gas properties. Specialized equipment includes solution and gas phase calorimeters, a 10-plate bubble-cap distillation column, a two-stage stirred flow reactor, and electronics for the measurement and recording of analog signals. Software used includes EXCEL for data manipulation, ASPEN for properties and process simulations, CHEM3D for quantum mechanical molecular modeling, and CKS for simulation of complex kinetics.
