Education Diane Russo earned her Ph.D. in English from the University of South Carolina. Her major field of study was Twentieth-Century American Literature, and her minor field was Southern Literature. Research Diane's dissertation, entitled "A Gathering of Voices: Dialogic Interplay in the Fiction of Ernest J. Gaines," explores the dynamics of race and power apparent in the interplay between the language of the Louisiana quarters and of the Modernist narrative structures in the work of renowned African American writer, Ernest Gaines. She has presented portions of her dissertation at conferences on Southern literature. Courses Taught Diane teaches Composition (E 105 ) and Composition and Literature (E 110 ) at the university. Her teaching experience includes the following courses: Business Writing, Professional Communication, Developmental Writing, Advanced Writing, Technical Writing, and American literature surveys.
