Dr. Margiano has taken Foot Solutions, Inc. from its founding in 2000 to more than $100 million in annual sales.
Prior to the founding of Foot Solutions, Dr. Margiano held executive management positions at Sikorsky Aircraft, United Technologies, Sybron Corporate and the Bostitch Auto-Soler Division of Textron Inc. before starting Heel Quik, an international franchise business, in 1983. The franchise grew to more than 700 stores in 34 countries. Using medical technology in a retail footwear store, Dr. Margiano then established a new market niche with his newest venture, Foot Solutions, managing to successfully cross over into mainstream footwear retailing, ensuring proper support, fit, performance and fashion in a non-medical setting. He is also the author of "Balance Walking - Changing Your Life in Just 15 Minutes a Day."
In 2012, he was part of the inaugural class inducted into the Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame, an Atlanta-based organization that recognizes the contributions of entrepreneurs from around the world. Margiano received the Veteran Entrepreneur Award.
He joined entrepreneurial luminaries including Truett Cathy, founder and chairman of Chick-fil-A; Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx; and Fred DeLuca, founder and president of Subway.
