Mr. Bingaman gained his utility experience at the Aquarion Company, headquartered in Bridgeport, Connecticut, one of the 10 largest investor-owned companies in the U.S. At Aquarion, he most recently served as the senior vice president in charge of operations for the Massachusetts/New Hampshire division. In his previous years at Aquarion, he held the positions of senior vice-president and corporate secretary, and oversaw communications and government, legislative and legal affairs. Prior to joining Aquarion in 1990, he held leadership positions at Sikorsky Aircraft, United Technologies Corporation and Texaco, as well as serving as a labor relations specialist with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company.
Mr. Bingaman’s extensive community affiliations include serving as past director of the United Way of Eastern Fairfield County, past board member of the Newtown Scholarship Association, Inc. and past vice chair, Board of Trustees member and past chair of the development committee of Save the Sound.
Mr. Bingaman graduated from California State University at Long Beach with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, and received an Executive MBA from the University of New Haven in 1992.
Mr. Bingaman and his wife Martha reside in Danbury, Conn.
