To provide varied high-level administrative support and serve as administrative assistant to the Associate Vice President Director of Athletics and Recreation in the day-to-day operations of the Department of Athletics.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serve as liaison between the Director's office and the department of athletics as well as other campus departments and outside agencies with regard to Department of Athletics administrative issues.
2. Administer the Department of Athletics program for athletics event scheduling including all contracts, officials and support staff. Coordinate and approve payment of all officials and event support staff.
3. Coordinate all schedule changes with required event personnel both internally and externally.
4. Prepare and run academic reports for all student-athletes in conjunction with the Office for Academic Services. Create a semester by semester database of academic grades. Prepare weekly summary reports and distribute to coaches and assigned administrators.
5. Over see the administrative aspect of summer camps and clinics. Maintain the database for all summer programs.
6. Maintain all department databases including alumni, donors, Charger Classic, Hall of Fame and student-athletes.
7. Maintain all student-athlete files including preparation, distribution, and coordination of athletic scholarship forms with the office of financial aid and the compliance office. Initiate, distribute, track and process all NCAA National Letters of Intent.
8. Prepare invoices, reports, correspondence and other documents for UNH, NE-10 and NCAA; monitor reporting deadlines for the Department of Athletics to ensure timely responses.
9. Assist the Business Manager with preparation of check requisitions and purchase orders.
10. Assist the sports information office with proof reading materials in preparation for printing.
11. Advocate for and contribute to the Department of Athletics programs, goals, and objectives regarding economy, quality and customer and donor satisfaction.
12. Assist other Department of Athletics administrative staff as needed and perform special duties as requested. Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree. Experience in an athletics environment preferred.
The ability to multitask and prioritize large workload assignments from all areas is essential. Strong keyboard, word processing and advance spreadsheet skills with attention to detail; Ability to handle high volume and high pressure with speed accuracy, initiative and a positive attitude.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work independently, with little direction or supervision; understanding/knowledge of college athletic programs and event management experience are assets.

The University of New Haven located in West Haven, Connecticut is expanding its Facilities Management team and is seeking individuals for positions shown below. The University has an enrollment of 3200 undergraduate and 1800 graduate students. The University’s campus is defined by approximately 75 acres of land, 33 buildings and one million square feet of space. The annual Facilities budget totals $9.27 million. Manager Plant Operations – Search #09-30
Position reports to the Director of Facilities. Responsible for the planning, estimating, and scheduling of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing maintenance and engineering project work to ensure effective and economical preservation of UNH facilities. Manage the work of outside contractors involved in maintenance and alteration work at UNH. Provide technical, planning and other support to university capital projects. Comprehensive knowledge of building trades; federal, state, and local building codes; engineering concepts; computer aided design; project management; mechanical systems; building trades; facilities management and building systems. Extensive knowledge of traditional and new materials, techniques and methods in building construction, and construction contract administration required. Proficient in the use of current management information systems including Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Work Order Management System and others as required. Thorough understanding of labor relations preferred. Minimum of eight years direct supervisory experience in the field of facilities construction and maintenance management required with institutional unionized environment preferred. Manager of Custodial Services – Search #09-72
Position reports to the Director of Facilities. Responsible for the planning and scheduling of custodial work to ensure effective use of University resources, preparation of and compliance with the annual departmental budget. Compares alternate solutions and determines how to best utilize staff members and outside contractors. Manages all aspects of custodial operations, including recruitment, training and retention of staff members, scheduling and directing moving and grounds maintenance activities, recommend cleaning supplies and equipment, customer service interactions and problem resolution, and compliance with Federal, State, Local and University rules, regulations and policies. Also provides technical direction and support for contracted custodial services at UNH leased properties. Responsible for the actions of and results produced by supervisors and over staff members. Working closely with the Office of Residential Life, oversees cleaning, maintaining and set-up of student housing. Schedules and directs custodians, laborers and grounds maintenance personnel. Resolves labor resolutions between management and custodial staff.
Minimum of ten years direct supervisory experience in the field of facilities management, in a union environment, with Exceptional organizational, communication and computer skills required. Experience in a higher education institutional environment preferred. Exceptional verbal, written and organizational skill and the ability to communicate effectively with all organizational levels are required. Supervisor of Custodial Services – Search #09-76

Position reports to the Manager of Custodial Services. Candidate will be responsible for supervising Custodial Services employees at UNH. Interview, train, develop, evaluate, and supervise custodial employees and other employees. Inspect the work of employees and follow-up as required. Develop plans for ongoing training of staff in cleaning techniques, safety, security and hygiene. Provide supervisory backup for all three shifts and weekends. Make recommendations regarding the improvement of service. Coordinate and oversee the activities of employees and contractors in support of special events. Initiate and cultivate customer relations. Ensure accurate record keeping. Carry out special projects as assigned. Procure equipment, materials and supplies as required.
