Ray Margiano is the founder and CEO of Foot Solutions, Inc., an international franchise with more than 250 locations that focuses on a retail niche between comfort shoe stores and orthopedic facilities.

In just six years, Mr. Margiano has taken his company from its founding to more than $100 million in sales.

Prior to the founding of Foot Solutions, Mr. Margiano held executive management positions at Sikorsky Aircraft, United Technologies, Sybron Corporate and the Bostitch Auto-Soler Division of Textron Inc. before starting Heel Quik, an international franchise business in 1983. The franchise grew to more than 700 stores in 34 countries. Using medical technology in a retail footwear store, Mr. Margiano then established a new market niche with his newest venture, Foot Solutions, managing to successfully cross over into mainstream footwear retailing, ensuring proper support, fit, performance and fashion in a non-medical setting. He is also the author of "Balance Walking - Changing Your Life in Just 15 Minutes a Day."

Mr. Margiano is a frequent speaker on international franchising, the footwear industry and pedorthics, and has worked with a number of franchising companies in an advisory role. He has received numerous awards and recognitions for his achievements, including the Blue Chip Award, the Atlanta Business Person of the Year Award, and the Michael Minihane Award for Excellence in International Franchising presented by the International Franchise & Entrepreneurs Expo. He has also received numerous awards from the Shoe Service Industry of America. Mr. Margiano is a member of the National Shoe Retailing Association, the Shoe Service Institute of America, the Society of Master Shoe Repairers in England, the International Franchise Association, the Canadian Franchise Association and the Canadian Pedorthic Association. He serves on the board of directors for the National Shoe Retailing Association and the Advisory Council for the American Diabetic Association.

Mr. Margiano holds a bachelor's degree in Business from the University of New Haven, a master's degree in Business and Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Ph.D. in International Business from Canbourne University. Mr. Margiano also studied pedorthics at Temple University.
