Prior to joining Girl Scouts of Connecticut, Ms. Barneby spent more than 30 years in senior roles in the financial services industry, most recently as head of UBS’s Private Wealth Management business based in Stamford CT. In her current role she oversees a statewide staff of 120 people engaged in growing the membership of Girl Scouts, delivering leadership programming to girls in grades K-12, fund development, selling product, training volunteers and overseeing organizational infrastructure. Girl Scouts of Connecticut delivers more than 500 programs a year and its members sell nearly three million boxes of cookies, making it the largest girl leadership and entrepreneurial organization in the state.
Mary Barneby is the Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of Connecticut, a nonprofit organization that serves 47,000 girls and nearly 20,000 volunteers in the state. Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place.

Ms. Barneby earned her bachelor's degree from New York University and her M.B.A. in finance from Fordham University. She also earned her Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation at the esteemed Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Ms. Barneby and her husband T. Kirkham Barneby have a son, Charlie, who earned a bachelor’s degree in 2010 at UNH, majoring in Hospitality/Tourism. He is currently pursuing his master’s in community psychology at UNH. They reside in Madison, Conn.
