    Tom Geisler is a graduate of Harvard College and the Harvard Law School. At the latter, he was President of the Harvard Law Record, which is the student newspaper. He served four years as a Navy JAG lawyer, first as assistant legal officer at the Submarine Base in New London, CT (where he served primarily as defense counsel), and second as an appellate defense counsel at the Naval Appellate Review Activities, where he represented servicemen before the appellate military courts. Thereafter, he was a litigator in the New York headquarters of the law firm, Shearman & Sterling, first as an associate and then as partner. He participated in many lawsuits in many areas, such as antitrust, securities regulation, breach of contract, business torts, and accounting arbitrations, in diverse trial and appellate courts. He also wrote nine articles for "Proof of Facts" on various specific legal issues.

    Since 2006, he has taught in the Legal Studies Program at the University of New Haven, first as an adjunct and more recently as a practitioner in residence. Inter alia, he teaches Legal Research and Writing I and II and the senior legal internship course, and he also advises the UNH Mock Trial Team. He also teaches math and law at the University of Connecticut's Avery Point campus in Groton, CT.
