Exhibition Opportunities

Current Opportunity: Open Call For Art on Campus
Deadline: March 11, 2013

The University of New Haven has an open call for art to be considered for permanent or temporary installation on campus.

The University is interested in 2D artwork suitable for interior display and large-scale 3D work for outdoor installation.  All artwork will be prominently displayed on our campus, which hosts more than 20,000 visitors annually.

If you wish to have your work considered, please submit a single pdf of 5-10 artworks, artist statement, bio, and proposal (note: all writing should be under 250 words); send as an attachment to lmarsh@newhaven.edu

Rolling Submissions:

Seton Art Gallery presents a diverse array of 6-7 exhibits each academic year. The calendar includes interdisciplinary projects and works by contemporary artists, as well as exhibits of student and faculty work.

The gallery is directed by Laura Marsh with the assistance of a small team of students employees and exhibition students.  It is a venue that serves a university community of diverse interests, as well as the greater New Haven region.

Interested curators and artists are welcome to submit exhibit proposals to the gallery.

While we are open to all types of exhibits, please bear in mind:

  • We invite exhibition ideas that will engage the community in educational and/or creative programming.
  • We exhibit local and regional artists more frequently that the works of those from farther away.
  • We present group shows more often than solo shows.
  • We particularly invite curators to propose engaging projects.
