Business Advisory Committees

Academic Support Advisory Committee

Chair: Irv Mittleman, imittleman@newhaven.edu

Committee members, with an assigned liaison to each of the College's concentrations/majors, attend the annual department (functional area) assessment meeting in May to give counsel on how emerging business issues might impact curriculum development. Members represent the business community at the College's annual stakeholder conference.

Workforce Development Advisory Committee

This committee advises and assists in the development and delivery of the College's professional enrichment program, which provides students with business skill development seminars and forums to help prepare them to enter the workforce.

Experiential Learning Advisory Committee

Chair: Ed Pratesi, edp@BrentmoreAdvisors.com

This committee fosters the continued development of educational opportunities that mainstream students into the professional workplace. Activities include the College's "job shadowing" program, its internship program, and its practicum learning experiences in addition to co-curricular opportunities such as the corporate challenge.

Mentoring Advisory Committee

Chair: Robert Lee, LeeRM@theleeco.com

Members advise and assist in the development of a University-wide mentoring program. A social gathering is held each fall and spring for students, mentors, and invited business partners.

Lifelong Learning Advisory Committee

Chair: Antonietta Massaro, MassaroAE@aol.com

This committee assists in the development of continuing education and lifelong learning experiences for the University's alumni and community and business leaders. This initiative includes the development of certificate programs and executive educational opportunities.
