Excellence in Food Service Management Certificate of Recognition

The Hazell Center is please to welcome Richard Schenkel, President and founder of Unidine, as he provides insights into institutional food service. From building a management career to creating one of the fastest-growing companies of its kind, Mr. Schenkel discusses this often overlooked segment of the hospitality industry.

Building a unique restaurant concept requires understanding several key ideas. From location to target market to designing the menu, our Hazell Center expert discuesses how to build you own successful restaurant concept.

Building a loyal customer base is vital to the long-term success of any restaurant. Pete and Dino Maniatis, the leaders behind the successful cafe' Zoi's on Orange, discuss their strategy for developing a business based on excellence in customer relationship management. Integral to their discussion is the role of providing excellent food, quality service, and a friendly atmosphere.

Delivering a quality meal begins with quality products. In this session, purveyors and restauranteurs discuss trends in food and the relationship necessary to cultivate menu innovation, indentify the right partner for your business, and know what's hot in the restaurant business.

Business Bootcamp

The College of Business is pleased to offer a Certificate of Recognition in Business Bootcamp. Attendees who participate in at least four of them following sessions and who develop the associated materials are eligible to receive this Certificate. Attendees are encouraged to pre-register for each session by calling Danielle Allen at 203.932.7362.

A business attire fashion show/workshop designed to provide students with an understanding of the "do's and don'ts" of dressing for today's workplace.
