Introduction
The UNH communication program trains and educates students in the fields of television, radio, film, journalism, public relations, and interpersonal and corporate communication. The program promotes and encourages early student access to studio and editing facilities, complemented by classroom instruction in communication theory and writing for the media. The University's radio station, WNHU, is operated by the Department of Communication and Marketing.
Unique Features
- Students in this program develop a comprehensive understanding of interpersonal communication as well as organizational communication, public relations and advertising. In addition, the program includes studies in mass communication journalism, radio, television, and film.
- The program blends theoretical concepts and skills, academic rigor, and hands-on experience to prepare students for careers in business, the public sector, the media, or for additional studies at the graduate level.
- UNH's communication students have many opportunities to meet and work with a variety of local and national celebrities. Students have worked with actress Meryl Streep and on major motion pictures including Milos Forman's "Man on the Moon" starring Jim Carrey.
