Executive M.B.A. 1984

Cathy Bradley had already earned a master’s degree in economics when she decided she needed to broaden her business acumen in order to assume more leadership roles. As she considered different universities, she knew she needed an executive program that allowed her to continue to work full time and raise her family. She found her answer at the University of New Haven.

"The Executive M.B.A. model worked for both my personal and professional life and met my educational objectives," said Bradley. "What’s more, it gave me the opportunity to really network with seasoned business professionals — not just for an hour and a half of class but for complete days. We really got to know each other and share views and business problems. It was much more valuable than my traditional master’s program."

After graduating from UNH in 1984, Bradley went on to hold a number of executive positions, including: officer with the Southern New England Telephone utility, officer with Nextel Communications, and president of a wholesale business. She credits her Executive M.B.A. experience and its broad business foundation with giving her the confidence from which to lead.

"I had a deep economic background, but my Executive M.B.A. program expanded my view. I learned how to build and run a business...

and improve business performance across multiple disciplines, rather than leveraging business from a silo view," said Bradley.

Most recently, Bradley served as a managing director of Accenture’s global Customer Contact Practice. She now has launched her own consulting practice helping businesses to improve their operating effectiveness and leverage new technologies. Much like her experience as a student at UNH, she helps to bridge different disciplines and ways of thinking to create a more holistic view of an organization.
